William Shatner as Canada’s Governor General?!

My buddy Reg sent me the news that a growing tide of Canadians wants to nominate William Shatner as the Governor General of Canada.

As much as I like Bill, I have to ask: Is he really qualified to run Canada for the monarchy? I mean, that would be like my state nominating the “I have a tumah” and “I’ll be bach” guy to run the sixth largest economy in the world. Oh wait, we already did that, and he botched the job. FAIL.

I dunno, I guess Reagan and Schwarzie have turned me against celebrity politicians.

But it would be undeniably fun for Bill to run Canada. Case in point:

My good friend Lene and her fellow Shatner obsessee Jungle Kitty will be hosting the Women on the Way Festival this weekend. Check out the coverage at the SF Weekly:

William Shatner’s Butt Girls host the Women on the Way Festival Benefit Performance and Party. The Butt Girls, aka Lene Taylor and Jungle Kitty, geek their way through dirty Star Trek jokes, Captain James T. Kirk–related games, and probably a mention or two of their blog, lookathisbutt.blogspot.com. They also introduce a sample platter of performers from the Women on the Way Festival, including comedian Samantha Chanse, singer Kikélomo Adedeji, and headlining sexy clown Summer Shapiro.
