Glenn Greenwald on WikiLeaks

“Whatever you think of WikiLeaks, they have not been charged with a crime, let alone indicted or convicted. Yet look what has happened to them. They have been removed from Internet … their funds have been frozen … media figures and politicians have called for their assassination and to be labeled a terrorist organization. What is really going on here is a war over control of the Internet, and whether or not the Internet can actually serve its ultimate purpose—which is to allow citizens to band together and democratize the checks on the world’s most powerful factions,” – Glenn Greenwald.

Batman and Pelosi

I couldn’t help but repurpose this quote from The Dark Knight:

Nancy: Then why was it me who was the only one who lost everything in November!?
Batman: It wasn’t.
Nancy: The GOP chose me!
Batman: Because you were the best of us! They wanted to prove that someone as good as you could fall!

The difference between Nancy Pelosi and Harvey Dent is that Pelosi is still kicking and fighting the good fight.

Never give up, Nancy!

The Lord of the Atlas

This quote made me happy:

“There are two novels that can transform a bookish 14-year-kld’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish daydream that can lead to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood in which large chunks of the day are spent inventing ways to make real life more like a fantasy novel. The other is a book about orcs.” – John Rogers

Thanks, Lene!

Humpday Hotness – Diego Russo

I’ve seen these stylized pink-filtered pictures all over the nets lately. So I dug a little deeper and turned up some very sexy and very NSFW pics of Diego. Let’s put it this way, Diego has a very nice penis.

Humpday Hotness – Chase Hostler

I don’t claim to be breaking any new blogosphere ground with this post. I know Chase has been featured all over the gay blogs lately. But what I haven’t seen is a ton of his work collected all in one place. So, without further ado, please click the link below and enjoy a smorgasbord of muscly hotness.

Sad Superheroes

I thought this was cute when I saw it. Then I took a closer look, and it kind of annoyed me that the three female characters included are all sad about things related to men. Wonder Woman’s is only indirectly related to a man (men are needed to make babies). But still…

It’s not the artist’s fault, of course. It just underscores the way that comics write their female heroes.

Product Placements Invade Daytime Soaps

Wow, companies are really embedding their product placements everywhere these days. And, unfortunately the brilliant soap writers haven’t really risen to the occasion. Watch as they clumsily wrote Cheerios into a scene of Days of Our Lives. Lame-O.
