But Mo-oooommmm!
I flew to Chicago and back for work on Sunday/Monday. The best part of my whole trip was an exchange I overheard on the plane en route to Chicago. A teenage daughter and her mother were sitting in the aisle next to me. The daughter was thumbing through SkyMall (United’s inflight shopping magazine) as her mom read a book.
Daughter: Mom, you only have to buy me one thing for Christmas if you buy me this ring.
Mom: Honey, I already bought you a ring for Christmas.
Daughter: But, Mo-ooommmmm! This is the ONE ring. The ring to rule them ALL.
I giggled and smiled approvingly.
