Did Google Earth Find Atlantis?!

atlantis

It’s all over the tubes. Some dude was surfing Google Earth and discovered ancient city streets under water off the coast of Africa.

Via CNET:

atlantis_270x158From what it sounds like, a British aeronautical engineer was playing around with the new Google Earth 5.0, which includes undersea data, and noticed something funny off the coast of Africa, about 600 miles west of the Canary Islands, that resembled a pattern of a street grid. According to the United Kingdom’s Press Association, the pattern of streets equated to an area the size of Wales.

But when it comes to Atlantis, Google totally had to rain on everyone’s parade. “It’s true that many amazing discoveries have been made in Google Earth, including a pristine forest in Mozambique that is home to previously unknown species and the remains of an ancient Roman villa,” a statement from Google read. “In this case, however, what users are seeing is an artifact of the data collection process. Bathymetric (or sea floor terrain) data is often collected from boats using sonar to take measurements of the sea floor. The lines reflect the path of the boat as it gathers the data.”

I smell a cover-up!

Flow Chart for Porn Flicks

This is great! And, it reminds me of a now defunct gay porn review site called IDidn’tOrderAnyPizza.com. (Very very NSFW)

Christian Bale Goes Shitballs on Peter Griffin

I don’t have a TV at the moment, so I’m missing out on Sunday night programming. However, I happened to see this episode of Family Guy while I was in Sonoma over the weekend. It’s a total riot. Christian Bale goes apeshit on Peter Griffin. You’ve got to see it to believe it. And if the Youtube gets pulled for copyright violation (many other copies of it have already been pulled), the go check it out over at TMZ.

Kittens!

I don’t know why I love cute pictures of kitties so much. Probably recently reignited by the new kitty living in our house named Xena: Warrior Kitten.

Too Many Dicks on the Dance Floor

I have never seen an episode of Flight of the Conchords. As I was watching this clip in my living room today, my roommate said, “Is that Flight of the Conchords? Here, check it out, I have the first disc of season 1 from Netflix. It’s addictive”

So much for getting outside and enjoying the sun today.

Zombie Mustang Statue at Denver Airport

At first I thought this was a Photoshop hoax. But no, it’s in the non-blog news (The Denver Post) too.

Here’s what one blogger says:

“Does this make you want to fly the friendly skies? Not meant to represent the local Bronco’s sports franchise. The artist who sculpted this died when it “fell” on him during construction. Many locals want it put out to pasture.”
