Christians Come to Castro to Convert Gays
This happened only a block from my house. Some Christians came to the Castro to preach conversion to heterosexuality. Of course, tensions are pretty high right now in the gay community, having had our rights recently stripped away by religious groups. An altercation erupted and the cops were on the scene immediately. The Christian groups are already claiming gay intolerance of religious people. Ahem, excuse me? Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black? And, riddle me this Batman: What do you think would’ve happened if a bunch of gays had shown up at a church function (a church picnic, let’s say) in an uber-conservative neighborhood, and started preaching conversion to homosexuality? Not that physical violence is ever justified, but let’s not pretend that the gays acted any differently than the religious folks would have acted if the roles were reversed.
