David Cook – I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For by U2
Logan Says: His voice sounds a lot like Bono’s. This was a great song choice. Wow. I am loving this song. It’s definitely his own version. Great final note!
Randy Says: Also loved the scoop up of the note at the end. Paula babbles about finding something. Simon says it was phenomenal.

David Archuleta – Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me by Elton John
Logan Says: Did they pick this song for him because they think he might be one of Elton’s kin? His voice is pretty but this song is boring. His eyes are open though. That’s an improvement. He’s definitely more expressive on stage. He’s doing the best he can with a lame song.
Randy Says: One of the best performances of the season. Molten Hot! Paula says her heart is still pounding. Simon says last week was just okay. Tonight’s performance was arguably the best he’s done so far. Simon says Round One goes to Archuleta. Whoa. Simon and I disagree for once.

Round 2: Contestant’s Choice of Fan Songwriter Songs

David Cook – Dream Big
Logan Says: Um, what? Isn’t this a Drake Bell song? Or The Naked B rothers Band? This is way too poppy for him. I didn’t like it very much.
Randy Says: Wow. Paula gushes. Simon says it was a bit of a lightweight song. It didn’t feel like a winning moment.

David Archuleta – In This Moment
Logan Says: Ugh. I’m over this fan submitted song thing. He’s singing it beautifully, but the song is just kinda lame.
Randy Says: He wasn’t crazy about the song, but his voice was good. Paula says it was heartfelt. Simon says he loves the egotistical lyric, and that Archuleta chose the better song. He said Round Two goes to David Archuleta.

Round 3: Contestant Song Choice

David Cook – The World I Know by Collective Soul
Logan Says: I LOVE THIS SONG. Omg. Wow, it’s so pretty. This was such an amazing song choice for him. It’s perfectly suited to his voice. And I love his arrangement. He’s crying. Awwwww…. I love him.
Randy Says: This was the nice sensitive side of David Cook. Very nice job. Paula says something about standing in truth, integrity, and something. She stands and ovates. Simon says David Cook is one of the nicest and most sincere contestants they’ve had. He says it was the wrong song choice. WHAT?! I disagree with you wholeheartedly Simon.

David Archuleta – Imagine by John Lennon
Logan Says: This was the song that made me watch this season. I saw it on Youtube and was amazed. Tingles down my spine. Perfect. Just perfect. Best song choice ever.
Randy Says: Archuleta is exactly what the show is about. The best singer of the season. Paula says she’s speechless and that he was stunning. Simon says this is one of the great final episodes. Simon says that it was a knockout.

Wow, it’s going to be a close one. Very tough to call this competition. I’m going to go with Archuleta. He had a better night and a better overall season.
